In June 2012, The Providence Community Health Centers opened its newly-constructed Prairie Avenue Health Center campus, two buildings that are home to a variety of clinical specialties for adults and children. The completed development includes a 41,750 square foot primary care health center and a 50,000 square foot medical office just yards away.
Along with a variety of medical and specialty services, the Prairie Avenue campus is also home to PCHC Express (urgent care) and PCHC’s pediatric dental services, with 19 operatories.
PCHC Prairie Avenue has the distinction of being the nation’s first “green and smart” community health center. The building is LEED-certified at the Silver Level; has received multiple awards for technical systems and historic preservation; and has been nationally recognized by the US Environmental Protection Agency. PCHC Prairie Avenue features 45 exam rooms, innovative lighting design, reusable interior materials, and integrated primary care and behavioral health services.
